I have debated the usage of street signs announcing my name for City Council, and have decided not to do so. Firstly, the sheer number of signs already present rapidly turn this into a size of sign war. Secondly, the resources that would need to be devoted to such signs is appreciable for a working class individual. Thirdly, over the last few years, I have been diligently working at keeping City Hall aware of my thoughts, and the public thinking through my Advocate/Express missives. My battle for the Arlington was well pubicized, and changed the way City Hall looks at historical sites Fourthly, through my work at Superstore Gas Bar, the Red Deer Advocate, my work on the Historical Committee, and work with the Red Deer Royals has kept me amidst a different sector of Red Deer. My working class lense is very clear, and necessary in city council. We need a council that reflects every class in Red Deer, not a counterfeit one that represents the business requirements of our commercial citizenship over working class decision criteria.
