I have decided to cancel my enrollment to VCU. After taking a step back and looking at my finances, a lot of time and money would be wasted on a career I dont love. I felt as though a good paying job is what I needed to meet everyones expectations. When people tell me that Im going to get out there and do great things, I know theyre not talking about cupcakes. My dream is to open my own bakery, and Im going to cancel my enrollment to VCU so I can begin a full time baking apprenticeship. I hate to let anyone down, but this is what brings me absolute joy. Why go into $48,000 worth of debt over a job that only ranks second in my heart? Baking and pastry art is more than a hobby and a side job; its my life, and I plan to make a career out of it. -Katlyn
