I have decided to share a favorite verse for each of the 31 chapters of Proverbs over the next month. If you have any favs please feel free to share them with me. Proverbs 1:7: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Had to start here bc only a healthy understanding of the power and righteousness of God, and our sin that separates us, can give us what is called Biblical fear. It isnt terror or being scared like in a horror movie, it is knowing and understanding exactly who God is and what He can do. When you put this verse with Romans 5:8 that Christ died for us while we were walking in death then you see the true power and nature of God. This is a place EVERYONE must start when approaching God or you can never have a healthy relationship with Him through the Cross (John 14:6). So, do everything today to find yourself in this verse before you do anything else, so that you can truly be ready to worship God tomorrow bc you cannot worship, respect, live for, die for, or follow God if you havent resolved to fear Him in all of His majesty, holiness, awe, power, justness and love.
