I have encountered a phenomenon along the long country road that runs in a straight line between my home and the town about ten miles away where my kids school is. You can see about a mile up the road, so when a school bus stops, you still got a good bit of driving before you get up anywhere near the hundred foot stop zone. Redneck mothers get really pissed if you dont stop the mile back when they can first see you. Fortunately, Im not always the first car up in line, but whoever that is, there are about five bus stops along the road where redneck mothers wave their arms, scream, and in some cases flip off the stopped cars in outrage at how they stopped with no concept that their voices are not carrying through the windshields. At most, youll get caught by one or two busses a day coming along the other direction. The other bus stops have parents that just collect their kids without the mimed performance. I find that staring blankly in their direction with slightly off-centered eye contact is the best approach to get crazy people to burn themselves out quickiest on the righteous rage. I am the crazy redneck mother whisperer.
