I have endeavored to learn about two crazy Irish sports tonight. One of them is Hurling (I capitalized it so you know its a sport and not the thing you might do if youre sick), which is amazing and you need to check out if you havent. Its a bunch of grown men batting a giant golf ball around with what look like wooden cow femurs and it seems as dangerous as it sounds. The other is known to the Irish as football. Confused? Well, in case you were not aware, theres at least six different sports from around the world known as football and this is one of them, Gaelic Football. From what I can tell it mixes elements from soccer, rugby, basketball, hurling, volleyball and probably other things. Im not kidding.
