I have family, friends and lovers who are now serving, or who have served OUR country. Each one of them has a story. Each soldier has fought battles, all of them real; some of them still fight, or have fought, haunting shadows and spectres beyond our purview. All of these men and women paid a price for serving US, the American people; loss of health, loss of income, loss of job status in the private sector, loss of family, loss of friends and support networks, loss of mental and emotional security, loss of home. They experience hunger, pain, bone crushing weariness and fatigue, injury; all for US. Some of these men and women have paid the ultimate price for their service.... the loss of their life. Not just today, but everyday, if you know a vet, and they WANT to share their story, LISTEN. Listen with all of your being. Each and every woman and man in the military has served for YOU.
