I have felt Curtis more this past week, just a few weeks shy of when we gathered in mind and body in an Idaho cemetery to celebrate his all too short life. I have been operating under this misguided notion that it was disrespectful to his memory to move on with my own life but if I learned anything this past week that to celebrate and to honor his life, I needed to turn my face toward the sun and take the leap. In turn, I believe in some crazy way, Curtis was partially responsible for sending a beautiful, compassionate soul to challenge me and to remind me of the value of life and knowing that we are designed to share our lives with another. I didnt realize how much I missed listening to another heart beat in sync with mine, to hold hands in silence knowing that connection makes you feel special. So I guess what I am trying to say that I am so grateful this Sunday for Jon for doing something unconventional this week that reminded me with patience, with gentleness, and of course my own value as a human being that its ok to feel again, to feel the light of day, to laugh, to be lost in the looking forward to what the future might hold. I have no idea what the future may hold, a lesson I have learned all too well the last few years but it feels amazing to be in the next chapter of my life thankfully in part due to delicious, sweetheart yankee from NYC.... #gratitude #blessed #lifeisajourney
