I have finally felt like Im ready for Christmas. It is such an intangible thrill I have carried with me from my childhood which was filled with wonder and joy, nice people, and no broken families. This year has had its really hard points, and until this week I refused any Christmas music. We watched a lot of Andre Rieu tonight. Hes one of my favorite musicians of all time. I remember an interview, where he spoke of interviewing and auditioning new musicians. He said that nearly everyone who got to audition was well qualified. He chose the musician who looked like he had the most fun playing. You can see that on the faces of his entire group. This piece is different. I watched it for the second time, and played it for my bride, who is an expert on people with disabilities, particularly downs. I told her, I thought I saw some people in the orchestra who were disabled: she told me that nearly everyone in red jackets is disabled. May God bless him.
