I have finished my Hymn to Vermilingua. This is a combining of the first part of Edvard Griegs Piano Concerto in A minor, with a stately hymn of mine at the end. It is a true composition, considering that bits and pieces of other works are included in the anthem. Grieg is invoked in the first part of the anthem, followed by a few notes of Partant pour la Syrie, a French revolutionary song, then the ending to a rarely performed anthem of mine, Dideba, followed by its replacement, Tavisupleba, then finishing with Peter, the original anthem of the anteaters, its name refers to the University of California, Irvines mascot, whose name is Peter. Anteaters? Yes, anteaters. A hidden (and highly secret interest of mine !), I plan to meet an anteater at a zoo soon. It is on my bucket list, and will be fufilled possibly next year. Composed as a true anthem in all sense of the word, it is in praise to anteaters. It is strongly influenced by the Piano Concerto in A by Greig, and contains passages quoted from that piece. It is inspired by the walking motion of the anteater himself, and is definately recognisable in a certain section of the anthem (youll know it when you hear it !). I cant post the sheet music of the anthem here, because it is far too complicated, as well as being too long. https://youtube/watch?v=nqniaQTfOqc The first part of the anthem is the first 1:52 seconds or so of the below recording, the sheet music is also displayed.
