I have finished thread painting my leaves and I am happy with the results although I have a confession to make. This is the first time I have ever done embroidery using a QUILTING foot and I thought for a while I had wrecked my poppy but I got the hang of it after a bit and saved it! Whew!!! For a while I thought I was going to have to tell all of you that I wrecked it because I didnt know what I was doing!!!! I have embroidered and did thread painting many times using my vintage treadle with a hoop and also on my regular sewing machine by changing my pressure foot pressure but never with a quilting foot. It was fun and I am excited to do it again! WE will not be using the quilting foot to stitch our poppy. I will be showing you another way to do that which will be much more controllable and we will have much nicer results. Hopefully I will post a video of it soon. Everyone is getting closer to the stitching phase. I did use stabilizer between my fabric and batting where I did the leaf embroidery but we will not need stabilizer when we do our poppy.
