I have for years been interested in the origin of different music forms. The socialogy of music you might say. For instance what are the roots of rock and roll music? One time years ago, I found what I thought was the missing link between jazz and Rock and roll, Louis Jordan, but of course its not that simple. The roots to rock and roll started long before that. I have heard it in blues, in early country music, western swing for instance, where country music mix with jazz and blues, especially with the boogie woogie rhythm and bass. I have heard it in pure country music, Hank Williams for instance. Yesterday I found this interesting video consisting of clips of music starting in the 1920s and up till 1949. And it is easy to hear where the influences of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis etc etc etc came from. Its a fact that all contemporary popular music has its roots in the southeastern states of USA. With a huge meltingpot in the New Orleans - Louisiana area. youtu.be/H_lqJk5JzeA
