I have found out through my own time with God through the years, that when I seek Him, I always find Him. I have come to realize that the fruit of the Spirit that comes through me to this written page or in something I say or do, is not me at all, but is Jesus Himself speaking to me and through me. The fruit of the Spirit is listed in Galatians 5:22 as love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are not things that I do; they are the results of Christ living in me. I cannot take credit for any good that comes from me because all that is good in me is only because He lives in me. There is no righteousness in me except the righteousness of Jesus. If I were to be emptied out of the Holy Spirit, I would be incapable of producing good fruit. Jesus Himself is Love. Love is Jesus. I find myself at times praying for God to give me peace, or joy, or self-control. Then He opens my understanding and lets me know that HE IS ALL OF THAT. It is Jesus Himself who contains the fruit of the Spirit I produce. Since the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ lives in me (and all who accept Him as their Savior), then I already have all that Jesus has. My whole life is made whole because He is all in all. He is within Himself all that I need. As He lives His life out through me, He will reap the fruit of the Spirit through my daily life, simply because He is the Spirit that produces His own fruit!! He can do no less. He is Himself love, joy, peace, and all the fruit that God has given to His Son. I have found that to stay within the bounds of righteousness which He has given to me, I must do my part to attain the intimate relationship that comes from being a born-again Christian. My desire must be to give Him completely all that I am each day, to allow Him to consume my thoughts, my mind, my all. I must crucify the flesh to the cross and walk in step with Him. It was such a relief when I realized that He is responsible for maintaining my relationship with Him. He will do what is required for me to be what He wants me to be. All I have to do is trust Him to be who He already is. When I seek love, I seek Jesus. When I seek joy, I seek Jesus. When I seek peace, I seek Jesus. No matter what Im longing for, and as long as it is good and right, I will receive all because Jesus is everything I need. When I stumble and when I fail, I seek His hand which is always held out to me, without condemnation, to return to Him and know He loves me and will never turn His back and walk away from me. In fact, no person and nothing on earth can ever separate me from my Savior!!! I praise you, Jesus, for what you did for me on the cross, and not me only, but for all who read these words, and for all the entire world.
