I have friends who dont vote, and I respect their right to make - TopicsExpress

I have friends who dont vote, and I respect their right to make that choice. They believe the system is corrupt and that its an exercise in futility. Im the first to admit that I dont know the whole story. On the other hand, I doubt anyone else does either. What I do know is that people struggled, fought, were tortured, beaten, and killed to prevent voting. Women werent allowed to vote. Blacks werent allowed to vote. And voter repression continues. One woman who used to live in Louisiana said that theyre only allowed three minutes to make their selection! IDs are required for voting while just about anyone can buy a gun. So heres what I think. If voting didnt matter, there wouldnt be such an effort to prevent it. On the contrary! Theyd make it as easy as they could to fill our heads with a false sense of accomplishment. The only reason politicians are creating bills to discourage voting today is the same reason that women and blacks were tortured in the past: Voting Makes A Difference. No matter what your party affiliation: Vote! Make your voice heard. (y) Paid for by No One. This Voter Approves This Message.
