I have friends who think I am brave because I was an Infantryman - TopicsExpress

I have friends who think I am brave because I was an Infantryman in the US Army, or because I am a Deputy Sheriff. Meh, not really. My 21y/o son Dylan just up and said F it, and started driving across country to move to Seattle Washington. He does not have a job lined up. He does not know anyone there. He (or at least I) am not sure his car will make it there. That would scare the hell out of me. I have always had firm plans on my next step in life and had a security blanket of one form or another. Enlisting in the Army, I had food, clothing and shelter. I was trained to do my job and knew I would get a paycheck. No worries. As a cop, I am well trained and provided the equipment I need to do my job. No worries. I am not winging it and seeing how things turn out. My big moves in life had a safety net. Texas to Hawaii had the Army to take care of me. Hawaii to Virginia, I had my Dads basement to move into while I went to college. My son has bigger balls than I do. I am proud of him.
