I have, from time to time, publicly articulated my faith in the biblical God on facebook, knowing full well that I have friends with diverse belief systems and world views. I have not done this to be provocative, but to share my experience of the reality and imminence of God. Believe me, I have been around several blocks of life, several times, and God has palpably spared both my physical and spiritual life. Some take me for a fool for such a faith in such a God. Some feel its a clear sign of a lack of intellectual acuity, or emotional stability. They are wrong on both counts. Its taboo to publicly speak about these things in many circles, and I even feel embarrassed, myself, sometimes, when it appears to me that fellow Christians are making fools of themselves by naively, childishly, or uninformedly, saying certain things about their belief in Jesus Christ, when they zealously want to nail their spiritual colours to the mast. But Jesus did say, in our scriptures, that if we (believers) are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of us on the great Judgement Day to come. Im prepared to be a fool for Christ, if that is what I must be perceived to be by some, for openly proclaiming my faith. He offers a free gift of life in this world, and the next, to any who will just take it and receive it. He is the only one who can forgive all your sins, no matter what you have done, free of charge. He is the only one who can offer, true, deep peace, in a world of ever increasing turmoil and trouble. Im a fool for Christ! Whos fool are you?
