I have given a great deal of thought about elections and how they are run and came to one conclusion. I am setting aside voter suppression and gerrymandering for the time being. There has to be a set of standards set by the FCC. That no campaign ad oral or written can make any false or misleading statements or they will not be aired or be permitted to be sent through the mail. This has to hold for candidates and all pac commercials and literature. If anything of that nature occurs then the FCC should have to have air time on all radio and TV stations and print media to point out to the public at large the falsehood that was stated or written. It has to be printed on the front page of every newspaper and at the beginning of all news programs. When I say all news programs I mean ALL including all programing of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC. All conservative radio stations and news papers. If the TV and radio do not comply then they can lose their license to all programing. Politician are the people that shape this countrys laws that We The People have to live with. If this was done no amount of money could sway an election. All propositions in every state have to be spelled out to the people and not in legal terms but in terms a child could understand. I am sure that all the media would bring a case against the FCC and most likely the Koch brothers and their ilk. But we as a group as a nation should demand honesty from elected officials if they lie then we should have the right to re-call them from office and get someone else in there. I am sure you all think I have lost my mind by now.
