I have got a ´new ear´. It looks the same, but it is different. When Beethoven at a young age got hearing problems he attached a baton to his piano and bit on it with his teeth to be able to hear the music through his jaw bone. Now a days it is different. I have just been at hospital and came home with a bonebridge. Big cut behind my ear and an implant is fixed to my scalp, the skin will be intact once it has healed. In 2-3 weeks I will get a magnetic hearing aid looking thing and the shound will bypass the outer and the middle ear and go straight to the inner ear - impressive! It is a very new thing. I feel awful now, but soon I can enjoy music again, hear better what people say, avoid problems with background noise disturbing the sound, and hopefully hear directions... and hear with two ears instead of one. The sound will be different, one has to adjust, but still... Beethoven managed to write music with a less sophisticated system, so this very new thing will probably make wonders. We do not need to go deaf in 2013. I have seen videos of children who could not hear before and suddenly they can, it is amazing.
