I have had a few people ask about Jeff so I thought Id catch you up on everything. SHOULDER: Not healing as well as we had hoped. For now the dr. injected it with cortisone. If that does not make a significant difference, there is a real possibility that he will need more surgery. SPASMS: still having quite a lot of those darn things. Possible that the spasms actually tore up some of that shoulder work. NECK/BACK: Although the neck is healing nicely, the back is having some pretty major difficulties. He does have some herniated discs in his lower back. Not sure if that is what is causing the spasms, but it definitely is the trigger point. Because of these issues in his back, it is hindering his ability to walk. When he left the hospital in November, he was walking up to 800 feet per day. Now, we are no where near that number in an entire week. There is a process to get to the point of surgery, he is getting injections in his back right now. The first injection, while it helped at first, he overdid it the following day and ended back at square one. He had the second one yesterday so he is on strict orders from ME to take it easy. LUNGS: Seem to be the one thing we are not worried about at this point. In fact, today is the first day in almost 3 1/2 years that he DID NOT take prednisone, We follow up with the Pulmonologist later this month. Still hoping for a clinical trial. EVERYTHING ELSE: Lymphodema is still an issue, we are now seeing an internal medicine doctor. Going this afternoon for an ultrasound on Jeffs extremities to look for blood clots and then having a dexascan (bone density test) to see what all that prednisone has done to him. On April 11, we see an ENT in Twin Falls because the doctor believes that the Squamous Cell Carcinoma has returned to Jeffs tongue. :( Prayers are always coveted.
