I have had a great week of training and wanted to share my #WorkoutoftheWeek with you - Rowing. I have begun incorporating this as a part of my training schedule, either before or after weights so that I can get some extra cardio in. I have introduced 6 rounds on the rowing machine, each round being 200 metres with a sequence of push-ups in between. Trying to be as efficient as you can in the quickest time! Rowing is a full body workout and it sports a double-whammy of health benefits. It’s a cardiovascular activity by nature, but also engages almost every major muscle group in the body making it a very effective strength-building exercise. Rowing works your quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, back, shoulders, abs, obliques, biceps, and triceps so when you get off the machine, your body appreciates the level of workout that it has just received. Rowing requires that you move smoothly through a large range of motion, and is super low-impact on joints (which is really good if you have any injuries). It is also great workout if you want to burn calories! Please note that these are my recommended Workouts of the Week however I suggest that you consult with your physician before beginning any exercise program.
