I have had several people come to me questioning my intentions for the money we collect for Lucas on Sunday so i would like to clarify for all that are questioning my intents: 1st of all this social came about because my husband Dan Doreen has built a special connection to this young man. I do not personally know Luke well and have known his mother only as an aquaintance over the years and do not know his father at all. That being said Dan wanted to do something special for Luke before he started his treatments and he choose this social to be it. After we talked about it with a few of our friends we decided that a fundraiser would be a nice idea to help the family out. The family consists in our eyes to be the ones that take care of Luke. I feel that is inappropriate for people to question our intentions while we are doing what we felt was a great idea for a very brave young man. I feel that it will be up to Lukes Mother and his Father to decide how and where this money will be spent. Luke should be the main concern and the joy of being surrounded by his community to wish him the best of luck while he goes out to tackle this next stage of his Cancer. So i hope this clears it up for all and that everyone that is questioning our intents could please focus on our Guest of honor Lucas and not who between his parents will get the most money!
