I have had several people message me with concerns over the recent Ebola virus, now that it has come to the U.S. and what if any plans Del Norte County has in place. Both my office and the health department get updates from the federal and state on issues and threats. If and when there is a pandemic we will be well informed and present the appropriate precautions to contain and reduce the threat. As Sheriff we have plans that allow for the shut down of access into and out of Del Norte County, roads, airports and harbor. One of the nice things about our area is the limited access into and out of it. In the case of a pandemic, it makes limiting access more of a reality.
