I have had some great grief in my life, and long after I came to Jesus, when the time was right He brought me to therapy, and gave me a full toolkit of emotions so I could better love my wife and family. It was not magic, it was not immediate...that recovery took time...and when it was done, I came to the Jubilee. “Jubilee” was the festival, held every 49 or 50 years in ancient Jerusalem. According to Leviticus, slaves and prisoners would be freed, debts would be forgiven and the mercies of God would be particularly manifest. Somewhere out there, there is someone who needs to hear this song, for it is about giving up your pain, your past, and your hurts, and moving forward in God’s love, Grace and forgiveness. Somewhere out there also, is another person waiting to pounce on and correct me for incompletely or inaccurately describing “Jubilee”; it is that person who most needs to get quiet and listen to this song, drop all filters, and actually come to the Jubilee. You need to accept your grief and pain in order to move through it and out the other side, and not pretend it doesn’t exist. God heals. Come to the Jubilee.
