I have had the great blessing of hearing Dr. Allan Boesak speak personally. Dr. Boesak was deeply involved in the struggles against Apartheid in South Africa. His unique experiences dealing with injustice and reconciliation of peoples and the deep, deep faith that those efforts required point to the biblical truths to which we must cling to guide our work. During one discussion Allan talked about the deep faith it took him and all those involved to shape the Belhar Confession into a non-political statement of faith that the difficult work of restoration could rest on.
