I have had the privilege of knowing Danny Aiello since I first met him 18 years ago when we sat next to each other watching the fights at Madison Square Garden. Besides being an outstanding actor, Danny is a totally honest and genuine guy - - a guy from the neighborhood who has absolutely no pretense or false ego. Danny has just written his autobiography – “I only know who I am when I am somebody else” - - and it is a terrific book. Tuesday night, Rosemary and I were invited to attend Danny’s book signing at Tribeca Grill the lower Manhattan restaurant owned by Robert DeNiro. Even though Danny wasn’t feeling great, he proved the axiom that the show must go on. He was as upbeat and warm-hearted as ever. It was truly a wonderful evening with a guy I am proud to call my friend. I urge you to read his book.
