I have had this struggle in the reporting of media for quite awhile. The Power of the Penor computer in modern times. As information is released to the public who are these writers who draw opinionated perspectives on something they have not really witnessed? It stretches into all types of press. War correspondents have got to be the craziest if they are reporting from the front lines but second hand info from the safe zones?Mainstream Sports reporters report from observations they witness but do they really know the know like taking a hit from a linebacker?Paparazzi Glamourizes its stars or Burys them but were they there? The News now thats a can of bull popularized by mostly headlines of bad things. I am a documentary filmaker that derives a story from actuality not sensationalism. Imagine if a surf journalist went to Jaws on Maui and lets say he had a jet ski drop them right in front a 50 ft wave so they could give an account of a 2 or 3 wave hold down that would be a story well researched if they live to tell. Facts get exaggerated from the desk of lets say a San Fransisco office doing a phone interview about Mavericks but never left the city to experience the reality. Power of the Pen catchy title might have to slate my next doco on this in the surf media. The true storys will be revealed.
