I have had to say farewell to another dear friend. Pastor Steve Mays was called home to be with the Lord yesterday morning, and our hearts are grieving the separation of love ones for now. We are sorrowing, but we also rejoice in the hope of our reunion one day. I am praying for sweet Gail, their entire family, and the church at Calvary South Bay, may the Lord comfort their hearts as only He can. I read these words Steve wrote on September 28 just a few days ago. In less than 24 hours, Ill be going in for my back surgery. I want to thank you for your prayers, your encouraging messages, and for your outpouring of love. I have to thank the Lord for giving me an amazing peace that transcends all understanding. I wont be able to answer any of your Facebook messages for a while, but you can be sure that Ill be praying for you. So heres one last video from me, and Ill see (you) when I get out. And dont forget, God doesnt want you to be overwhelmed with your problems, He wants you to be overcome with His goodness and His grace. Love you :-) We will miss dear Steve, a fellow worker and friend. He has left a godly heritage that is one of integrity and love. Though we mourn your absence, we will look forward to the day when every tear will be wiped from our eyes and we will be forever in the presence of our Lord.
