I have heard a few PGA tour pros commenting lately how they need to strengthen their core. I have a hard time believing guys like Tiger, Jason Day and others have a weak core and that is why their backs are giving them trouble. I am by no means a master in the SFMA and progressions, but in all my understanding of pain, dysfunctional movement and stability v mobility and strength etc, etc it would appear to me that maybe these guys are missing an integral part of the equation. Something different, something called an upper cervical Blair adjustment. Not just regular chiropractic adjustments that most are accustomed to. There is a distinct difference in the upper cervical technique versus technique that twist and pop the neck. The specific alignment of C1 and C2 reactivates the brainstem to better control postural tone and pelvic alignment, better than anything I have experienced. If this is not getting addressed then core work ends up only reinforcing dysfunctional patterns and never truly engaging the muscles the athlete wants worked out or stabilized. I worked on a lot of golfers at the egolf tour last week and just about every single one of them noted that one upper cervical adjustment did more for them than multiple other chiropractic adjustments or ART, etc. There is a difference which is why we say Experience the Difference Less is truly more. Dont get me wrong I am for most modalities and soft tissue procedures but if the nerve system is getting left out of the equation and proper upper neck alignment is not there, athletes and people in general are missing out on maximizing their health and performance.
