I have heard many people say, many times throughout the years......I have no regrets.....but that is not me, I actually do have a few regrets, and one of them is back in my early 20s, during a time I was partying a lot, and totally misguided, with no direction at all, other than straight to a bar or nightclub. And during this time, there was a guy I knew who wanted me to read some poetry he had written, and he entrusted me with several writings of his, all rolled up in a scroll, and I accepted them, and promised I would return them after I read them. Well, of course at the time, smoking pot, and going to the bars were top priority in my life, and I unfortunately never got around to reading the poetry, and Im not really sure how it happened, but I lost them.......I lost every single piece of poetry he gave me to read of his, and it has bothered me to this day. Things like that cannot be replaced........and I know, through my own selfish and self-centered ways, I know I missed something really special and beautiful by not taking the time to read his poetry, like I said I would, and I have often wondered what he had to say. And I know, looking back, that what beauty he may have seen in me at the time, had more than likely faded away completely, because he trusted me with something so special to him, and I put it aside, and then lost it.......I may as well have trampled on him. I was careless with his heart, which was also his Art and soul, and I regret having behaved that way. I am truly sorry for that, I even told him, but I dont think it mattered, but it has mattered to me, all this time. I can still see that scroll to this day.
