I have heard so many stories of why people dont come to church. Its too much mess, I asked for money and the church said they didnt have any funds, the church is here to give to the people, Im mad, The Pastor wont do what we say, all they want is money....etc. Well, I was one of those people until I formed my own personal relationship with God! Its really not about any of those things. For me Church is about spreading the gospel (NOT GOSSIP) and bringing people who dont know Christ to have a better understanding and come to build their own relationship. Its about having faith when all seems hopeless. Its about walking in the image of God. Please note....GOD KNOWS YOU BETTER THAN YOU KNOW YOURSELF. If we arent right, He knows and deals with us accordingly. If you think you are getting over by using the church....He knows and will deal with you. If you are turning folk away with rumor, gossip or being judgemental, or just mean....hes got you too. So just know, there is no getting around God...he knows your every thought.. What gets me is people that claim to be the most holy because they are raised in Church. That means nothing if they have not encountered God. A lot of people that were born and bread in the Church, still may NOT know CHRIST. They know, Their Church, but Not how to serve like Christ. Serving is putting yourself aside to do what Jesus would do, help someone, pray for someone, feed, clothe, house someone in need, while at the same time teach them the way to lean and depend on the Lord from whence cometh our help... The Church building is material and manmade, but The Church Is the ones going out into the world so that someone will be saved by the most high. The Church is the ones who go out in search of problems in issues that we can fix through prayer and by the grace of God. The Church is where you can get physical and spiritual nourishment. The Church is real people on CRUSADE to take back all the devil took from us. The Church is there when folk are grieving and in need! THE CHURCH IS NOT WAITING FOR SUNDAY MORNING TO COME OUT, DRESS UP, GOSSIP, ROLL YOUR EYES, etc...There are people of all ages in Church and think they have it all together because Momma, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Sue and Uncle Billy Bob were saved....But none of these people can pay your way into Heaven. You have to pave your own path! I say this to encourage someone to get in sync with God. Dont let someone elses negativity or misunderstanding of Church turn you away from God or Church. For all the pain I have endured from Church folk....GOD has blessed me for my faithfulness, commitment and my dedication to people, strangers that I come in contact with and want them to come to know the Christ I serve and Love so dearly. Through all my hardships, I still know who holds the master plan and who is a friend when everyone else have turned away. My life goes something like this when it comes to serving the Lord....Just like a tree planted by the river....I SHALL NOT BE MOVED!! I challenge anyone to look past the fault of man to save your own soul, to lay a spiritual foundation for your kids and ones to follow. Give God a chance. Pick up your cross and carry it. The same people hanging out on Carey and Baker, Gilmor homes, North ave, Monument st are the same people coming into the church and guess what...we all have our own faults.
