I have heard through the grapevine that there will be a meeting at MIngo Central High School, Tuesday, April 1st at 5 p.m. for the school year calendar. From what I hear, they are trying to keep it hush hush. As of right now they are wanting us to start back to school on August 4th. I personally think its a bunch of junk. Weather is something we cannot control. Honestly, when was the last time we had a bad winter? I dont ever remember making up snow days when I was growing up. I think they dont get much of a summer anyway. I remember getting out of school in May and starting back in September; the good ol days, when they actually put the kids first, not where is my next vote coming from. They are kids, let them be kids, let them enjoy the summer. They DESERVE a summer, they have worked hard for this all year, this is what they look forward too. I (like most) love having my kids at home, spending time with them; During the school year I feel like I never see the one I do have in school. So I ask you ALL to share this status, and come to the meeting on Tuesday! If we dont speak up, they are going to do what they want. Also keep in mind, that 80 cents of EVERY TAX DOLLAR that is collected from the county goes to the Board of Education, that is money WE pay, so why not be concerned where our money is going? We are hard working, tax paying parents, why do we not have a say? I hope to see a lot of you guys there Tuesday, April 1st! Share this status, spread the word!
