I have helped raise close to 2 million dollars in my life towards charity events and took great pride in picking those charities which deserve my attention and efforts but now I am left wondering. I was going to ride with the BC Ride to Conquer Cancer, in Aug 2015. However, I learned that they stated they attempt to give 70% of the money to the Cancer Society but could not guarantee it, so that means maybe 70 cents per dollar donated will go towards research. Now they go and do this?!?!?!?!?!?!. I morally cannot ask the public to support something like this charity. Therefore I will no longer ride for this event and ask you all to look carefully inside yourself to see if you wish to support this event as much as you may intended to. To the BC Cancer Society and the BC Ride to Conquer Cancer, you will need to find someone else to represent your charity. I know others will continue to support you and the money which does go to research and such is welcomed and so very deserved, but please be an open book to all of society and let then know what and where their donated money is going and do it publically. I am so very disappointed and hurt at what you have done in this case and not being honest and up front with your stockholders. Shame on you............... :(
