I have just burst into tears of happiness. Ive been chosen as a champion runner for Beyond Blue to run in the city to surf this year. I am one of 20 people out of thousands so this really is such an honor and a priviledge. You may not know what the non profit organisation does - it provides support and services for mental health, with a focus on depression and anxiety. This is so close to my heart. I have known people so close to my heart who have suffered from chronic depression, and it is a heartbreaking and debillitation mental illness. I have known people who have taken their own lives due to suffering from untreated depression. When I lost my dad I fell into a deep depression. I couldnt take care of myself, sleep, eat. I have pledged to raise $1000 for this non profit organisation, as part of the great honour of being one of this years champion runners. Please support me in this goal, and help raise awareness of the importance of mental health. I will have an official page set up today. Thank you all so much!
