I have just finished a week on the campus of Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary in Manila, the Philippines. Have been privileged to attend the last chapel session of the academic year and witness the installation of the new Student Council; attend the Graduation Banquet last Saturday night and heard a great address by NZ DS Neville Bartle; attend Sunday worship at International Christian Fellowship (ICF) Church of the Nazarene pastored by alum Jason V. Hallig and former classmate Mila Fragata Hallig, and hear Tonderai Masango from Zimbabwe preach; attend the 29th graduation ceremony of APNTS (even got to pray the benediction), and was able to catch up with so many friends. This week I have been able to complete a few projects, finish 2 novels (Grishams The Racketeer and Rutherfords New York), as well as research and rest. In a little while I will head out for dinner with Dick Eugenio and his wife Mary Ann Caspe, and their daughter Heloise and ate Pastor Lucinda Tamayo. I already have made plans to eat with Mitchel and Marnie DeCastro Modine (Friday); Aussie friend Larissa Jefferson, whom I met originally when we were both teaching in Fuyang, Zhejiang, China 10 years ago (Saturday), and Oliver Lopez (Sunday afternoon). Additionally, I will be able to participate through vidyo in a combined meeting with the MLT in Brisbane & DAB in Perth this Saturday morning. It has been great to have lunch here on campus (cooked meal for about a $1) and get to know students from Russia, China, Colombia, Peru, USA, Philippines, Myanmar, India, and Korea.
