I have just finished writing this peaceful song which was inspired by my trip to Palestine and some research afterwards. I will start playing it next week I think, but I thought Id share the lyrics here first. There is no title yet, feel free to suggest any :-) From the borders of Siam and Cambodia To the Kashmir valley up there in India They just want to to get on with their life Spend more time with children and wife From the camps in the desert of West Sahara To the town of Bilin and strip of Gaza They just want to get on with their life They should not have to suffer or strife We are all the same So why do we fight? Over a promised land This I dont understand If we could stop the blame And be humane Maybe hand in hand We could save our land I stopped listening to the media Packed my bags went to Ramallah Believe it or not I didnt get stoned But the tripping was more of awe and despond Seeing humanity in the other side Will stop the fear nourishing the fight So lets stop listening to our leaders And try to understand the cause of our neighbours We are all the same So why do we fight? Over a promised land This I dont understand If we could stop the blame And be humane Maybe hand in hand We could save our land Thank you to all the people discussing these difficult issues with me.
