I have just posted part of the House of Commons debate on my Bill C-571 on my website at this link. Bill C-571 would prohibit the slaughter of horses for human consumption, with the exception of those that are raised primarily as a food animal and have a lifetime medical history of all medications ever administered. Horses as a rule are highly medicated animals and should appropriately be considered the industrial by-product of the horse racing and sporting industry where the use of medications not approved for use in food animals is the daily norm.
