I have just received a report of this City Chic dress which has dry cleaning problems with the black trim. If you have had similar experiences could you please let me know. The dry cleaner reports: Problem here with this dress - the black trims arent a dry cleanable item despite the label saying otherwise. The dress was dry cleaned using a chilled perc program and as a precaution with these black and white items, on its own. Steve says: Couple of reactions to this situations. I have removed sender attribution information to avoid the personal element in these situations: Reaction 1 It just mystifies me that operators are still trying to clean plastic trim in PERC. Especially when the label states a hand wash option It is a simple task to test the trim No wonder we are continually fighting a professional image problem. Care labelling is at its worst for the 28 years I have been in the industry and common sense and an understanding of fabrics etc etc must prevail before attempts at cleaning. PERC (Chilled or warm) will still breakdown pvc, vinyls, plastic etc. Sorry just frustrated at the industry , now more than ever with cheap imports, incorrect labelling and operators offering cheap specials and subsequently cleaning at the cheapest possibe ways. Reaction 2 I doubt it would matter what temp the solvent was..those beads would melt as soon as the solvent hit..certainly would have tested the beads with some Amyl Acetate!! If it was washable...then I would have stayed with that Lot of garments coming through with suspect beads Sent from my iPhone Steve Pyott
