I have just returned from a very cold but inspirational Rally @ City Hall. It was organized by the WNY Concerned Clergy Coalition. There were at least three different Rallies all relating to the recent deaths of Black teenagers and men across the country. Some of the members of one group were marching around and were more vocal with their chants than the other groups. All in all, it was a peaceful and well attended Rally. In the end, however, all groups joined the main group on the steps of City Hall. A group called Food Not Bombs were passing out free stewed potatoes and vegan soup. Both were delicious. I am glad I attended as I was able to pass out more than 250 flyers about the Community/Police Dialogue forum that will be held @ the Merriweather Library, 1324 Jefferson Ave., on Wednesday, December 17th @ 5 p.m.. Former legislator Tim Hogues is the moderater and the panel consists of Mike Lyons, Aaron Bartley, Rev. Frederick Gelsey, Eva M. Doyle, John Glascott, Justine Harris & Eric Walker. This meeting is all about giving the audience time to ask questions, make comments and put forth a community plan of action. Be there early as seating is limited.
