I have kept my mouth closed on this subject because my point of view didnt matter. However, after seeing some of the most idiotic post I have ever seen I want to put my two cents in the pot! . I have to say that I am very sorry a young man lost his life. Darren Wilson may have used excessive force but if Michael Brown was not attacking him it would not have happened. I am not saying that Michael was attacking him to the point to kill him, but we do not know what exactly Michaels end game was for the officer. Get the gun? Shoot him? Steal the gun and shoot others? Police are trained to shoot the middle of the torso to stop an attack more effectively. They are trained to do what they have to, so that they go home at the end of their shift. With that being said this case has nothing to do with race like some believe it to be. I strongly believe the officer would have done the same thing if Michael Brown would have been white or Hispanic. Do I think he used excessive force? Yes. He should not have unloaded as many rounds as he had. That was too much. Would everyone be protesting if Michael Brown would have actually been able to knock officer Wilson out, take his gun, shoot and kill him? No, simply because if that was the case this craziness would not be happening because we would have never even heard about it. Anytime something like this happens to a black these protest start and everyone wants to turn it into a hate crime/racist issue. What about when blacks or other races do this to whites? Is that in the news? Are people protesting, burning buildings, and yelling its a hate crime? That it is racist? Of course not. In 2007, Shannon Christian and Chris Newsome were violently raped, tortured, and murdered here in Tennessee. This young couple was more violently tortured than anything that I have every seen in the news. Shannon and Chris were both young white individuals. This was done by 4 black men and 1 white women. It started out as a carjacking that went horrifically wrong. This was a hate crime that never received the proper media attention because the hate crime was not done to blacks, it was done by blacks. Did everyone run into the streets and start protesting when the families had to go back to court because the monsters were able to find a loophole in the system and get a retrial? Did everyone protest when Vanessa Colemans sentence was reduced by 1/3 because of a judges drug addiction? Racism goes both ways here! It is wrong either way, but it happens! I am not saying that blacks are not treated differently by most. I hate that they are because there should not be a color barrier but, I do not see color in my own personal world. I do not care if you are Black, White, Asian, Hispanic or anything else for that matter. I will treat you the same as everyone else. That being said, I do not think that Michael Brown was targeted because he was black. I honestly think that Officer Wilson was trying to protect himself. I just think 1 shot would have sufficed. No need to shoot off multiple rounds. This Grand Jurys decision does not give these people the right to block major routes to hospitals, block roadways, burn buildings and cars, or steal.
