I have known this for awhile but now I am certain of it. The reason I both like and despise Arcade Fire is this....they are the Electric Light Orchestra of the 21st century. Doubt it? Give this one a listen. It is way too long, somewhat self-indulgent, overly orchestrated...but somehow it all works. This song could have been included on the 1971 ELO debut (the one with the Moves Roy Wood). If I have one mashup/remix wish for 2015--and I am looking at you Scott Potter and Mark Vidler--it is for an ELO vs. Arcade Fire re-composition.
