I have long been a proponent of reading one chapter in the proverbs every day, according to the day on the calendar. There is a maximum of 31 days in any given month and there are 31 chapters in the Book of Proverbs. If it is the 25th then read the 25th chapter of Proverbs that day. If it is the 26th then read Proverbs 26…… Proverbs 14:24 tells us that “The wise accumulate wisdom.” Here are three quick ways to place yourself into an accumulation mode: (1) Respect those with experience and expertise greater than your own. Understand and admit that you don’t know it all. Seek out those who have knowledge in areas that you are weak in. (2) Become a good listener. Remember the saying “When EF Hutton speaks; people listen?” When you are around intelligent people endeavor to learn something that you did not know before you came into their presence. (3) The more you prepare yourself the more opportunities you will get. Here is another piece of wisdom for Proverbs “A king rejoices in servants who know what they are doing” (14:35). If you are going into a meeting whether it is formal or just casual learn about the subject matter that is going to be discussed. This will help you grasp and keep as much knowledge that you can. The more that you are prepared, the more God will open doors of opportunity for you. Have a fantastic day Pastor Pete
