I have long been an advocate when it comes to listening to motivational speakers. I have always seen the good, and benefit, in listening to someone speak in a way that helps you get out of bed every morning, and chase that dream that you hold in your mind. However, recently I have realized something... One day youre going to wake up, and the same old speeches are not going to work for you.. One day youre going to wake up, and that speech isnt going to drive you the way it once did.. This is when you must move on to that next level.. One day you are going to have to pull from within yourself, and rely on your own motivation to get up, walk out the door, and move toward your goal, and I dont mean at a comfortable pace. Even if you only move that inch you are going to have to find a way to fight like crazy to get that inch.. Be unreasonable with your desire to be great.. I feel like I have recently gotten to that point.. I had to ask myself, why are you pursuing your career?. I was faced with opportunities to make more money with different degrees. However, being able to observe what my career entails has helped me motivate myself in a way I never thought possible.. I have put the pursuit of money aside, and now pursue the goal of helping others live again.. A doctor can perform a surgery, but I want to be the one who picks you up after that surgery, and helps you to walk again... to live again.. to be able to enjoy your life again.. I await the day when someone says, The Doctor saved my life, but that man right there helped me be able to live it again... helped me live it the way I always dreamed.. That right there is worth more to me than any salary I could be offered.. To feel whole. I cant wait to help those who have been broken get back up on their feet, and be their motivation until they can do it for themselves. Sorry for the rant.... just some thoughts.
