I have made it MY MISSION to find this wee soul a home - foster forever........... Sometimes a story breaks ones heart!! and I.m sure I wont be able to truly explain the emotion but...............I will try!!! Louise VD Merwe walks her Great Dane at Southys and over a period of time has befriended and helped the street people with their dog, Danger and the pupu they acquired 11 months ago, who used to be there (before Willem ended up in jail for a few years!!) One of the street people saw her walking her dogs at Westridge and approached her to help him with the same puppy. Owen said he truly loves his pup, Stephanie, but can no longer look after her - so please will she help him. Knowing this was hard for him she said she, of course she would help him. She knew that he not only loved his dog, but was also being responsible and asked for help!! She arranged to meet him this afternoon at Southys but phoned me first to ask, what could she do as she couldnt take the puppy home. I suggested she take to Helderberg Vets for tonight and I would collect her in the morning and take to Welfare. Thank you HAH!! At the exact time she had arranged, Owen and Stephanie appeared. I had asked if I could take a photo of them both, seeing as how we would be trying to find her a home. THIS was when it became Heartbreak Hotel. Owen was all smiles at first (see photo) but when he put Stephanie into our arms he just broke down and burst into tears. They were such SAD, sincere tears and there were all three of us in the end, with tears streaming down our faces:( I dont think I have seen anyone SO devastated at having to surrender their soul-mate, as I did this evening. Owen, I promised you that I would find a VERY special home for Stephanie and I will keep my promise. We will look after her at Welfare until that special home is found!! If there is anyone is willing to adopt (or even willing to foster) this 11 month old pup (who is truly only used to the streets) then please contact me on 032948666 or [email protected]. She is beautiful, in magic condition and full of confidence too!! An absolute treasure!!
