I have many friends who are and have been paramedics....they suffer in silence ...praying for them all THE SILENT CRY OF A PARAMEDIC People say, You have to have a sense of humor in this job. The jokes are gone for me. People say, You have to be dedicated. The drive is gone for me. People say, You have to love this job. The joy is gone for me. People say, You have to be tough in this job. The strength is gone for me. Only rage and despair are left for me. When I close my eyes, faces of the sick, the injured, the dying and the dead await me. Eyes pleading for help, uncomprehending, staring ahead reflecting the void that lies beyond. The void is real for me. If you believe in a God. Please pray for me. If you believe in compassion. Please talk to me. If you believe in the brotherhood. Please support me. If you believe in kindness. Please...please help me. (Dont let the stigma Silence you)
