I have my card from local 39 out of New Orleans. Im in good standing with all dues paid and I have my travel card. I no longer live in New Orleans and have contacted 3 locals in California where I currently live. Ive had no luck with any work with them. Luckily Ive been able to freelance and make money. With that said I would rather work union. Im not sure what to do if they dont start calling me in the new year because Im considering getting rid of my card if Im not working why pay dues?
