I have neglected my thankfulness duties because I worked so hard - TopicsExpress

I have neglected my thankfulness duties because I worked so hard this week, with a bunch of unnecessary stress dumped on me. I felt betrayed by someone I thought was trustworthy. Despite all of that...I put on an awesome Career Day. The students loved it, the teachers loved it (except one) and happily the speakers enjoyed themselves and felt appreciated. Thanks to Teresa Farquhar, Wayne F Smith, Rocia Pineda-Contreras, and Freya Kelly who helped me with the finer points of the day. These four generously extended themselves, though they were busy, too, to help make sure the day ran smoothly. This event reminds me that I am exceedingly capable (sometimes I forget), but that nothing is worth jeopardizing my health over. I am still a little PTSD over the horrible way that most of the event was handled, and how I did all the heavy lifting in a stressful way because people dropped the ball. This was not at the last minute (It was planned since August!) but because the people who were supposed to handle things didnt bother. If you are a manager... Say Please, Thank You and Great Job. Remember, to lead is to serve. When you have burned someone out and broken trust, its on you.
