I have never known anything to be as infuriating as trying to unpick a messed up insurance claim. This is how my evening has gone: Call to Swinton Bikes - Speak to our Claims line Call to Swintons Claim line - All we do is log the claim. There is nothing else we can do for you, you will need to speak to AXA (Erm... isnt that your job? Why am I having to do the Leg Work??? These ones got extremely shitty when I asked why I was paying Swinton if all they were going to tell me to do is ring AXA myself...) Call to Axa - Well Mr Hill, your wife has two options, claim on her own comprehensive insurance, or go through a legal team, but it is up to them if they want to provide a hire bike... (Woah.. what.... who said anything about a hire bike? Shes got a broken arm you moron...) Oh, so you dont want a hire bike? You just want to claim off the third party for the bike and injuries? (Hallelujah, the man finally understands!) Sorry sir, I cant do that as I am part of the comprehensive claims team, you call us when claiming off your own insurance (#wtf #rageface) BUT... heres the number to Swintons legal team who should be able to do what you want... Call to swintons legal team (who coincidently are also dealing with Ellies personal accident claim) Sorry, we might be able to help but claim handlers have gone home now Call to Swinton customer services as rage levels are too damn high: Im so sorry to hear whats gone off, I can understand why youre upset. Ill tell you what, take my name and I will call AXA tomorrow, get some definite answers for you and call you back in the afternoon. Then youll at least know who you need to speak to if not get everything moving. TL;DR Insurance companies Suck.... something that should be straight forward isnt and its left me pissed off to the extreme.
