I have never referred to having black friends or white friends. A friend is a friend and color doesnt matter. Ive decided with all the negative energy going on about race, etc etc that Im going highlight some of the black people who have made a difference in my life. Fred Garmon A.K.A. Boonie is someone who will always have a place in my heart. I started coaching him in the fifth grade and Ill never forget after our first practice getting a phone call later that night and this little kid they call Boonie asking me when we could practice again. I could tell he was special and was a winner at heart. The one thing I love about him is he always took care of his business. He always had that dog in him that wanted more out of life. He didnt sit back and wait on things to happen, he went out and made it happen. If I had 10 black guys jump on me I know he would jump in and get his ass whipped with me or atleast call 911.haha We have been down since day one and Ill always have love for my guy Fred Garmon.
