I have never seen Beaver Dam Baptist so packed until today. We had to bring out extra chairs for everyone to have a place to sit. Grace would have been so happy to see all of you. If you have ever visited my grandma while she was in the nursing home, I truly thank you. What upsets me the most is being so far away and not being able to see her nearly as often as I would have liked. Knowing that she had visitors made me feel so much better. Thank you to everyone who has brought food, offered us a place to stay, sent flowers, or reached out in any way. This song was performed today at her funeral and I had never heard it before but it got me right in the feels. As far back as I can remember Grace was going to doctors appointments, in the hospital because of asthma, and lugging around bags of medications she needed as well as a machine for her breathing treatments. I hope she is having all-you-can-eat chicken and pastry with her mom and enjoying not being confined to her body any longer. I miss her so much. Not one part of me wants to be back in Charlotte going back to school right now because that would be normal…and nothing feels normal anymore. Time heals all wounds but a piece of us will always be missing.
