I have never seen so many Muslim college students care as much as they did today about the death of a peer, friend or best friend. The dagger which could felt by hugging his father or best friends. The tears filtering the view of every possible memory you had of him. The cry of a mother who has lost the very son she devoted her life to; from cradle to grave. But most all, the thought of burying your own child before your very own eyes. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun. Surely we belong to Allah(God) and to Him shall we return. A dear friend, mentor, and an overall amazing and beautiful person, Mohamed Shaaban, passed away today. Many of us know him as the person who is always genuinely happy, caring, loving, compassionate and out-going; and yet, there are many more mesmerizing and beautiful traits and characteristics he showed us. His speech(es), advice, character and love moved mountains; it inspired many of us to be and do better. Today, InshaAllah Jannah(Heaven) gained a valuable and precious soul. He once told me, If you dont live your life in the moment and make the best of today, youre never going to achieve the unthinkable. Anything is possible, and its all up to you. Please keep his family, friends and anyone else affected by his death in your prayers, but most of all, keep Mohamed Shaaban in your prayers daily. If anyone needs, he does. Thank you, everyone.
