I have no illusions about the final outcome of the shutdown. Republicans will cave and pass the CRs exactly as the Democrats want, not because the Republicans lack a spine, but because, unlike the Democrats ruling our country, Republicans still give a little bit of a damn about the citizens of this country. They still have an iota of respect for the law and the Constitution, which is why, ultimately, the Democrats will win. Democrats, as exemplified by Harry Reid, are willing to bleed the country dry in order to get their way. They are ably assisted by the media, who will provide these bullies with ample cover along the way, and their constituents, who have willingly blinded themselves to the reprehensible behaviors of their elected representatives, or are silent because they stand to share in the loot.
